main task.
the front page , contents and double page spread of a new music mgazine.
all images and tezt used must be original, produced by you- minimun of four images.


my favourite genre is indie rock music and so this is what my magazine is going to be based on.



this genre has a wide variety of bands and acts to choose from and is possibly the most popular genre of today.



the genre of indie music is put together using rock and pop and slight elements from the 60s 70s and 80s which cretes a pop like rock music which we know as indie and appeals to a large audience and has almost become the main stream music of britain.

this inludes bands like:

the kooks,artic monkeys, the strokes and the libertines.

the genre of music will also reflect on the fashion in which the audience would wear and the lifestyle they have.

this will be informal on the up coming events and music being released. it also would have a humourous side with slight slang and should be within modern day langauge.

the languge of the magazine itself will not just be for the intense indie fan but those who have a slight interest aswell. basicly the audience should feel at home when reading the magaine.

institution.

as an institution i have to create a clean profit and so i must include as much selling points as possible in the magazine but also it already has its links as in this type of magazine the fashoin is already catered for with shops like topman and h+m so adverts from shops like this could be placed within the magazine.

ideology.

this is were the audiences lifestyle is included and manipulated within the magazine and this is a constent and up to date process. in my case i will keep the readers up to date on fashion gigs and up coming bands plus the sports results and local infomation with a feedback page where the audience will feel they can have there say.

audience.

my target will be the indie inspired teenagers ranging from 16 to the late 20s.

many people from this area alreday read magazines like nuts zoo and nme but to create a magazine which has all the infomation from zoo nuts and nme in one would be more convinient for the audience and is what im basing my music magazine on.

representation.

the audience is what i would be representing andd i hope to create a magazine that will be of most teenagers interests and could also educate the readers as well as inform them.

Front magazine.

the audience for this magazine tends to be young or older males.

this helps when making the cover and so in this magazine their is a model on the front enticing men and also all topics shown are of a males interest.

the colours of the magazine have no female feeling and are maily unisex.

the magazine dosent howver stop femaes from buying the magazine which could explain why the colours are unisex.

in the magazine i want to include.

• college events and staus infomation.
• music events/gigs and nights out.
• and general infomation students wish to know like television programes new films and bands plus college infomation like timetas for exams and term holidays

The Audience.

my audience is the students of wyke collage and the magazine is there to inform and educate the students of recent events and all the general collage infomation they need to know as well as the fun side of nights and day trips out.
these are my key areas of my audience that i wish to look at keeping part of my magazine.
the audience will roughly be 16 to 20 year olds and so i need to look at key likes and dislikes of interest in them ages .
for example the maga zine should include recent sports succesess within the collage, music and course options plus an event calendar of the week which shows all students whats going on and where with in that week.

We have learnt how to use the key concepts of media in a project in this scenarion it is a
college magazine.using the acrnym LIIAR to help us carr this out.

the technical terms such as the layout of the magazine, font of the text, the actual text, the photograph, the process of the photograph (black and white or colour), masthead,
size of the text and colour which the text is.

the production of media texts. In this case the Institution is Wyke College. Their objective is to provide the best education possible and wants to attract more students from other colleges.

IdeologyThis is a shared system of beliefs and values. Wyke college would want to produce articles in the magazine about education and about their students as these are their values.

AudienceThe audience are the consumers of media texts. Wyke college would appeal to a Niche audience because the magazine is aimed at the college students which is a small and specialised audience.

RepresentationThis is how social groups are portrait by the media. For the Wyke college magazine, the students will be represented as hard working, achievable students making the grade.

Mast head.this represents what the magazine will be about for example this magazine is called secondary school teachers which shows exactly what it wll include in the magazine.

Image.the image is also representing the topic of the magazine as in this it shows two happy succesful school students.
